What Is Kybella?
This injectable prescription medicine can be used to reduce fullness under the chin and treat submental fullness. Kybella® is comprised of a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid that targets fat cells in the treated area and permanently destroys them. Once Kybella® has destroyed the fat cells they are no longer able to accumulate fat, which results in a slimmer, more defined chin contour and reduces the appearance of a double-chin.

Kybella® has been FDA-approved for the treatment of submental fullness in men and women 18 years of age and older. What Results Can I Expect?
With proper treatment and weight maintenance, the results of Kybella® can be permanent. The deoxycholic acid in Kybella® permanently destroys the fat cells in the targeted area, preventing the fat cells from accumulating or storing fat. The results of this treatment are intended to be long-lasting, excessive weight gain could negatively impact your results and/or reverse the effects of your Kybella® treatment, but results can be permanent with proper weight management. Are There Any Side Effects?
Some patients may experience injection-related side effects, including minor swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness, and/or discomfort at or around the injection site. These side effects are temporary and should resolve on their own within one week of your injection session.
